Announcing Compass Marketing’s Revised Values & Mission

For years, Compass Marketing pursued one deceptively simple goal: helping great brands do great things. That single statement guided us and, over the years, led us to continuously adapt our business to better meet the needs of the brands we serve.

As 2021 drew to a close, it became clear that trends which were accelerated by the pandemic were not slowing down. We realized that just as our business had evolved, we needed to take a second look at our values to make sure they remained relevant to both our rapidly changing industry, and the broader world.

In 2022, we are committed to refining our values, our mission, and our entire culture. We want to ensure our company remains people-centered and inclusive, while continuing to encourage growth and greater engagement for both our teammates and our clients.

We are proud to take this opportunity to announce our new, refined values and mission statement, and we are excited to share a preview of the direction our company culture is headed.

COMPASS MARKETING’S NEW VALUES

We spent the last several months rethinking our values. After deep deliberation and close consultation with our entire team, we arrived at three values that are both aspirational and, most importantly, attainable. These values will guide our interactions today and into the future.

  • Bring Positivity and Empathy into All Interactions
    We will be courteous, respect unique perspectives, work together, and approach all our personal and professional interactions with a positive attitude. We will maintain a sense of mindfulness, kindness, gratitude, and optimism while carrying out our work. Above all, we will have fun and celebrate personal and professional wins.
  • Do the Right Thing and Help Others Do the Same
    We will treat everyone with kindness and respect, while being honest in all we say and do. We will take personal responsibility and take ownership of our actions, while carrying ourselves with integrity. We will seek feedback and always be open to communication and collaboration.
  • Do Great Work and Think Ahead
    We will work hard, be prepared, and strive for excellence in all we do. We will provide value wherever and whenever possible. We will embrace change and commit to continuous learning, creativity, and innovation. We will be courageous, take risks, and not back down from challenges, while always looking ahead to new opportunities.


COMPASS MARKETING’S MISSION

Just as we overhauled our values, we spent time reconsidering our company’s mission statement. Again, after months of deep discussions, we settled on a revised mission statement: Making brands more valuable by combining the very best in insights and experiences with unmatched human interaction.

Our new mission statement echoes our old mission’s simplicity, but explicitly references the human element of our work. Humanity is at the heart of everything we do, and we decided it was critical for our mission statement to reflect that. Personal interactions—from daily conversations to collaborating with teammates to working with clients to celebrating successes—are essential to our business. More than that, we consider cultivating human relationships and expertise to be one of the most important things we do.

REINVIGORATING OUR CULTURE

Our new values and mission are only the beginning. While we will continue to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients, we are dedicating this year to reinvigorating our culture.

By the end of 2022, our goal is to become more people-centered than ever before. As we move forward, we will prioritize a more vibrant, human, and personal work environment. As we continue to support our hybrid work model, we will ensure our culture is inclusive for all our teammates—no matter where they work. We believe a positive culture will not only make Compass Marketing stronger, happier, and more sustainable, but it will prepare us to lead our industry this year and into the future.
