Specialty channels offer unique opportunities for a brand to explore outside of its traditional channels while increasing its bottom line. What are specialty channels? Specialty channels for consumer-packaged goods (CPG) are specialized retailers, such as office, sporting goods, or craft retailers. At Compass Marketing, we find specialty channels to be exciting ways for brands to increase sales and consumer awareness in unexpected placements, which positively impacts customer loyalty and brand growth. At Compass Marketing, we find specialty channels to be exciting ways for brands to increase sales and consumer awareness in unexpected placements, which positively impacts customer loyalty and brand growth.

Our account managers work closely with our clients, deeply understanding their business goals, offerings, and consumers. We are constantly looking for opportunities to support our clients. These opportunities are found by monitoring trends, analyzing previous successes, leveraging data, and working with manufacturers and partners. This allows Compass Marketing to present fresh strategies to our clients, such as presenting offerings in unexpected, non-traditional channels.

One example of Compass Marketing’s success in specialty channels happened with a national clothing retailer and its Next in Line (NIL) queue system. Our account managers identified offerings from two leading wellness brands and a leading CPG brand as good candidates for this specialty channel. Offerings were presented and tested in-store to great success, leading to front-end placements of these brands in over 1,000 stores, increasing sales for these companies. This was accomplished by the work of our account managers who understood the consumers for these brands and the potential of this specialty channel.
